About The Position

Abundant Life Christian School seeks enthusiastic, qualified, and creative Christian substitute teachers to help students grow their interest and skills using a pre-established curriculum. Substitute teachers prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians, to the praise and glory of God. This is a subcontracted employee role as part of the Substitute Teaching Team.

Candidates must meet the stated spiritual and professional qualifications, including agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education. A bachelor’s degree is required; a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an education-related field is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Have received Jesus Christ as Savior.
• Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living.
• Agree with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.
• Serve as a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions, including commitment to Biblical standards for sexual conduct.
• Be a member in good standing of a local church whose Statement of Faith is in significant agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith.
• Demonstrate a love of children and a heart to serve others.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Respectfully submit to and be loyal to authority.
• Refuse to use or circulate confidential information inappropriately.
• Avoid gossip and practice Biblical conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Reflect the purpose of the school by honoring Christ in every class and activity.
• Maintain proper discipline in classrooms and on school premises to promote a healthy learning environment.
• Maintain regular and accurate attendance for the class covered.
• Help prepare and set up classrooms and learning spaces as needed before class.
• Establish and enforce rules of conduct for activities.
• Monitor the use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
