About The Position

This intermittent position provides direct support for identified special education students as determined by each pupil's Individual Education Program (IEP). This is paraprofessional support work in either assisting teachers with routine matters such as classroom preparation, playground, and cafeteria supervision, and providing assistance to students in completing supplemental work or providing direct one-to-one care as determined by each student's IEP. Requirements

A two (2) year combination of professional education, training, and/or experience in education or related field.
Resume must include the month and year for any relevant experience listed.
Resume should include the duties and responsibilities associated with each position.
Any experience that was not full-time employment should be identified as such.
Selected candidate will be required to pass the required background checks (fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Carries out classroom curriculum/daily lesson plans as outlined by regular teacher.
Maintains discipline in the classroom.
Assumes out-of-classroom duties as assigned by the principal (such as playground duty).
Reacts to poor behavior in a fair and constructive manner.
Teaches and reinforces good manners in the classroom.
Documents all serious behavioral disturbances to the building principal.
Grades, records, and returns subject area tests.
