About The Position

King's Schools is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher for elementary grades. This role is responsible for all organization, teaching, and supervision within their area of responsibility. The substitute teacher will report directly to the Principal and Assistant Principal. The position emphasizes Christ-centered leadership and education, requiring the individual to model a committed Christian faith and minister to the spiritual needs of students and the school community. This includes educating students in a manner consistent with Christian tenets, integrating faith and learning, and teaching a biblical worldview. The role also involves discipleship and spiritual development, supporting the welfare of students, and leading meetings in prayer. The conduct of the employee must reflect well on CRISTA Ministries and align with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith, and Christian Community Commitment.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions.
Light typing.
Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm manner.
Enjoy working with students.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate with adults and children in a positive, courteous, confidential and professional manner.
Ability to handle fast-paced environment.
Good organizational skills.
Good judgment in responding to routine, urgent and emergent requests and situations.
Ability to maintain detailed, neat and accurate documentation as needed.

Washington State Teaching Certificate or Substitute Certificate.

Be ready and available to lead staff devotionals and staff prayer.
Contribute to the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical welfare of the students.
Minister to the spiritual needs of students and develop a vibrant Christian faith community.
Support the spiritual needs of students through relationship and personal modeling of Christian faith.
Lead meetings in prayer.
Instruct and be available to lead and support students’ spiritual formation.
