About The Position

Guidepost Montessori is seeking on-call Substitute Teachers to support mixed-age Montessori classrooms when full-time teachers are out. This as-needed role offers flexible hours and involves supporting multiple classrooms serving children ages 0–6. Substitute Teachers help maintain a calm, engaging, nurturing learning environment. Formal Montessori training is not required; training is provided during orientation and onboarding. The role may offer an opportunity to move into a full-time Assistant Teacher position.

Requirements

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Valid state background check.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
• Passion for working with young children.

Nice To Haves

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
• Recent experience working with children ages 0–6.

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
• Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction.
