About The Position

Lake Highland seeks experienced substitutes to join our Substitute Teacher pool for the 2026-2027 school year. The Substitute Teacher provides instruction to students by following lesson plans and materials provided by the regular teacher and in compliance with the school’s policies. Other functions include effective classroom management, taking attendance, and monitoring and evaluating student performance, as appropriate. In addition to short-term substitute needs, we occasionally have long-term substitute assignments available.

Requirements

• Four-year degree from an accredited college, university, or international equivalent.
• Comfortable working with school-aged children.
• Pass background checks, including fingerprinting and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction to students by following lesson plans and materials provided by the regular teacher and in compliance with the school’s policies.
• Effective classroom management.
• Taking attendance.
• Monitoring and evaluating student performance, as appropriate.
