About The Position

Teachers Now is hiring reliable and motivated Substitute Teachers to support K–12 schools throughout the Austin area. As a Substitute Teacher, you will help maintain classroom consistency, support student learning, and make a positive impact when regular teachers are unavailable. No teaching certification is required. If you have 60+ college credit hours or an Associate’s degree, you may qualify to become a Substitute Teacher with Teachers Now. Paid training and onboarding support are provided.

Requirements

• 60+ college credit hours or Associate’s degree
• Dependable, professional, and punctual
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to work with students in a K–12 setting
• Must pass required background check and fingerprinting

Nice To Haves

• No teaching certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow classroom lesson plans provided by the teacher
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment
• Manage student behavior and encourage participation
• Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and transitions
• Take attendance and communicate concerns to school staff
• Support school staff in maintaining learning continuity
