About The Position

St. Anthony Catholic School in Robstown, Texas, is seeking exceptional individuals for the position of Substitute Teacher. This role is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for implementing teacher-prepared lesson plans, delivering curriculum, and maintaining academic continuity while supporting and modeling Catholic teachings, Gospel values, and the school's mission and philosophy. Key responsibilities include maintaining a positive, structured, and safe learning environment, overseeing students, providing feedback to the regular teacher, alerting administration to significant issues, and following school procedures.

Requirements

• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff.
• Basic computer/technology skills.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background, drug screening, and MVR.
• Obtain certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources.
• Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life.
• Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Continuously grow in ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
• Implement teacher-prepared lesson plans, deliver curriculum, and maintain academic continuity.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment using approved discipline methods.
• Oversee students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, cafeteria, and during activities.
• Provide feedback to the regular teacher and alert administration to significant issues, maintaining confidentiality.
• Follow school procedures and report to the office.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
