About The Position

Kokua Education is seeking positive role models to place in classrooms as substitute teachers in Houston, TX. The position is part-time, allowing you to set your own schedule and work up to 5 days a week in assignments you are excited about. You can start the interview process immediately for the 2026-27 school year. Requirements

• At least 1 year working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
• Completed 48+ college credit hours.
• Confident in managing a classroom of students.
• Willing to step in where needed.
• Pass state & federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments).
• Believe every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world.

Responsibilities

• Substitute teach in K-12 classrooms.
• Manage a classroom of students.
• Step in where needed, including lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season.
