About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring an on-call Substitute Teacher to support early education and preschool classrooms in the Plano, Texas area. The role offers flexibility and may involve working at different centers and with various age groups. Substitute Teachers help deliver activities and classroom care, communicate with parents, and provide coverage wherever needed. This is an in-person position in a child care center, carried out in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, and guidance and applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
Must pass required state and company background checks and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
Must comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
Must be able to frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds, and occasionally handle weights over 40 pounds.
Must demonstrate full range of motion for lifting, reaching, squatting, climbing, sitting, and participating in activities.
Must respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
Must maintain the mental and physical alertness and energy needed to perform essential job requirements.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
A CDA or an associate or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
Communicate openly with parents and share their child’s daily milestones.
Maintain a safe and clean classroom by following required procedures and guidelines.
Provide teaching coverage in any classroom or age group where needed, including at the center or nearby locations.
Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies and applicable laws and regulations.
