About The Position

The substitute teacher, by virtue of working in a Catholic school, is considered to be a ministerial employee. This means the employee is directly responsible for promulgating and modeling the official teachings of the Catholic Church. This entails that the employee works joyfully and diligently to promote and embody all official Catholic doctrine. As models of how to live well, Catholic school employees must lead lives of virtue that commend Church doctrine and in every instance promote the Church’s mission and message.

Responsibilities

• Implement the absent teacher's lesson plans with fidelity.
• Document student progress, activities, and outcomes as directed by the teacher.
• Dress professionally and modestly.
• Conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
• Maintain order in the classroom that respects the dignity of each person and stewards well all school facilities and property.
• Supervise students in activities that take place outside of the classroom, eg, recess, lunch, drop-off, and pick-up.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
