About The Position

Substitute teachers provide continuity of student learning when a teacher is absent by implementing lesson plans, maintaining classroom routines, and creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment. They follow and enforce school policies, procedures, and student behavior expectations while supporting each campus’s mission and culture. Substitutes may work at one or multiple campuses based on proximity, preferred grade levels, and school preferences. The position is part-time and located at Ridgeview College Preparatory HS in San Tan Valley, Arizona. The stated pay is $33.00 per hour.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree, valid Arizona Teacher Certification, or valid Arizona Substitute Certificate is required.
IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.

Responsibilities

Implement teacher-provided lesson plans and maintain instructional continuity.
Engage students in meaningful learning activities while maximizing instructional time.
Provide administration and the classroom teacher with feedback about student progress and classroom activities.
Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment with clear behavior expectations.
Build positive relationships that help students feel valued, supported, and motivated to learn.
Follow and consistently enforce school policies, procedures, and student behavior expectations.
Actively supervise students during instruction, transitions, and assigned activities to ensure safety.
Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, and support staff to support student success.
Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and respect for each campus’s culture and expectations.
Follow established classroom routines, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
Maintain student confidentiality and communicate relevant classroom updates or concerns.
Complete assigned duties and provide a summary of the school day for the returning teacher.
