About The Position
Guidepost Montessori is seeking warm, dependable substitute teachers to support mixed-age Montessori classrooms when full-time teachers are absent. This on-call, as-needed role supports multiple classrooms serving children ages 0–6 and helps maintain a calm, engaging, and nurturing learning environment. No formal Montessori training is required; training is provided during orientation and onboarding. The role offers flexible hours and may provide an opportunity to move into a full-time Assistant Teacher position.
Requirements
- Meet state education and experience requirements.
- Have a negative TB test within the last 12 months.
- Have a valid state background check.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
- Passion for working with young children.
Responsibilities
- Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
- Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
- Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
- Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction.
