About The Position

Kokua Education is seeking positive role models to become substitute teachers in the Philadelphia area. This role offers the flexibility to set your own schedule, with the opportunity to earn up to $216 per day. You will be responsible for sparking a love for learning in students and making a difference in the community. The position is for the 2026-27 school year, with the possibility of a fast track to full-time permanent roles at K-12 schools. Kokua Education provides support from 6 am to 8 pm daily and values the unique experiences substitute teachers bring to the classroom.

Requirements

Completed a Bachelor's Degree.
At least 6 months working with students in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
Confident in managing a classroom of students.
Willing to step in where needed.
Pass state & federal background checks.
Able to commute to North Philly.
Believe every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world.
