About The Position

This role involves stepping in for absent teachers to ensure continuity of education and classroom management. The substitute teacher will follow established lesson plans and school procedures, maintain student discipline, and report on daily activities.

Requirements

• Must have 60 hours of secondary education

Responsibilities

• Report to the building principal or school office manager upon arrival.
• Review plans and schedules with the principal, department head, or team leader.
• Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
• Teach the lesson outlined in the Substitute Teacher’s guide.
• Oversee pupil behavior in class, during lunch, and recess periods.
• Report in writing on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
• Follow all policies, rules, and procedures applicable to teachers and good teaching practices.
