About The Position

Guidepost Montessori is seeking warm, dependable substitute teachers to support mixed-age classrooms serving children ages 0–6 when full-time teachers are absent. This on-call, as-needed role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to make a positive impact on young children. Substitute teachers may support multiple classrooms and help maintain a calm, engaging, nurturing learning environment. No formal Montessori training is required; training is provided during orientation and onboarding. The role may also provide a pathway to a full-time Assistant Teacher position.

Requirements

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Valid state background check.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
• Passion for working with young children.

Nice To Haves

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
• Recent experience working with children ages 0–6.

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
• Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction.
