About The Position

Pinecrest Academy, a PK–12th grade Catholic private school in Cumming, Georgia, is seeking Substitute Teachers for its Lower, Middle, and High Schools for the upcoming school year. Substitute teachers cover for regular contracted teachers on an as-needed basis throughout the school year. They carry out the daily curriculum provided by the teacher and provide students with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Ideal candidates possess Christian values and have previous teaching or substituting experience, or experience working or volunteering in child- or student-related environments.

Responsibilities

• Teach subject-area content and skills using Pinecrest Academy’s designated curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
• Establish and maintain student behavior standards to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
• Identify student needs and collaborate with professional staff to assess and help students address learning, health, and attitude problems.
• Communicate with teachers and school counselors about student progress or issues.
• Supervise students during assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
