About The Position

Holy Cross School is seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher for a First Grade position. This role involves contributing to the academic, developmental, and faith-based growth of students. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge across multiple subject areas, a positive attitude towards teaching and professional growth, and a strong belief in their students' potential. The substitute teacher will serve as a role model, prioritize student well-being, and effectively manage classroom activities while adhering to school procedures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of instruction in teaching, writing, phonics, and mathematics to young students.
  • Understanding of appropriate teaching methods for students in First Grade.
  • Willingness and ability to work with students in First Grade who come from diverse backgrounds and have varying abilities to help them achieve their educational objectives.
  • Capability to organize tasks and manage time effectively to meet numerous and diverse deadlines.
  • Ability to handle both small and large groups of students in a classroom setting.
  • Skill in effectively communicating with students.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, internet and email systems, as well as word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of technology and its use in instruction to enhance student learning.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology.
  • Must pass a background check with fingerprinting.
  • Must complete Virtus Safety training.
