About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring an on-call Substitute Teacher to support young learners in early education and preschool classrooms. The position offers flexibility and may involve working in different centers and with various age groups. Substitute Teachers provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies and applicable laws and regulations, helping ensure the safety of children. This role requires in-person work in the Plano, Texas area.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Pass required state and company background checks.
Meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
Frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift, carry, or hold more than 40 pounds.
Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings.
A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in early education or a related field.

Responsibilities

Assist with hands-on activities that meet the needs and interests of children.
Maintain open communication with parents and share their child's daily milestones.
Keep the classroom safe and clean by following essential procedures and guidelines.
Provide teaching coverage in any classroom or age group where needed across a center or nearby locations.
Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, and guidance.
