Substitute Teacher
About The Position
Guidepost Montessori is seeking warm, dependable substitute teachers to support mixed-age classrooms serving children ages 0–6 when full-time teachers are out. This on-call, as-needed position is suited to individuals seeking flexible hours and an opportunity to make a positive impact on young children. Substitute teachers may support multiple classrooms and help maintain a calm, engaging, nurturing learning environment. No formal Montessori training is required; training is provided during orientation and onboarding. The role can also offer a path toward becoming a full-time Assistant Teacher.
Requirements
- Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
- Valid state background check.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
- Passion for working with young children.
Nice To Haves
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
- Recent experience working with children ages 0–6.
Responsibilities
- Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
- Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
- Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
- Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction.
