About The Position

Independence Academy is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide instruction and classroom management in the absence of regular teachers. The substitute teacher will report to the building principal or school office manager, follow lesson plans prepared by the absent teacher, and maintain classroom routines. Responsibilities include overseeing student behavior during class, lunch, and recess, and submitting a written report of the day's activities.

Requirements

• Must have 60 hours of secondary education.
• Substitute Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the building principal or school office manager upon arrival.
• Review plans and schedules with the principal, department head, or team leader.
• Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
• Teach the lesson outlined in the Substitute Teacher’s guide.
• Oversee pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.
• Submit a written report on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
• Follow all policies, rules, and procedures.
