About The Position

This role involves assisting a classroom teacher in a Junior Academy setting, providing care and support to children. The substitute teacher will step in when needed, ensuring children are treated with dignity and respect, and assisting with daily routines, lesson preparation, and classroom supplies. A key aspect of this role is fostering a loving and valuable environment for each child, reflecting Christian virtues and beliefs.

Requirements

Provide/successfully complete a TB Test prior to start date
Provide/successfully complete CPR & First Aid Training prior to start date
Provide/successfully complete a Criminal Records Check prior to start date
Provide/successfully complete a CAN Check prior to start date

Responsibilities

Assisting the classroom teacher
Caring for and treating each child with dignity and respect
Assisting children in preparing to leave in the afternoon
Assisting the classroom teacher when needed for breaks, gathering supplies/materials, and emergency situations involving a child
Keeping the classroom properly stocked with paper goods needed for snack and lunch
Helping in the preparation of necessary materials for lessons/activities
Serving as a substitute teacher when asked by the Preschool Site Director
Attending and participating in all Preschool staff meetings
Participating in recommended training programs, workshops, courses, and other aspects of professional growth
Attending and participating in the Annual Orientation, Annual Open House, programs, and other events sponsored by CAL Preschool
Assuring each child that he/she is loved, has value, and that God made them special
Praying for each teacher and student daily
