About The Position

The Wichita Falls ISD is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is responsible for managing student behavior, ensuring student safety, maintaining attendance, and implementing lesson plans in assigned classrooms.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of subjects assigned
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Maintain emotional control under stress
• Ability to follow written instructions

Responsibilities

• Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain daily attendance in classroom(s) assigned.
• Implement lesson plans left by classroom teacher, or as assigned by campus administration.
• Maintain a professional relationship with campus staff.
• Be a positive role model for students.
• Support mission of school district.
