About The Position

Independence Academy is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide instruction and classroom management in the absence of regular teachers. The substitute teacher will follow established lesson plans and maintain classroom routines, ensuring a consistent learning environment for students.

Requirements

• Must have 60 hours of secondary education.

• Substitute Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the building principal or school office manager upon arrival.
• Review teaching plans and schedules with the principal, department head, or team leader.
• Maintain established school and classroom routines and procedures.
• Teach lessons outlined in the Substitute Teacher's guide.
• Oversee pupil behavior in class, during lunch, and recess.
• Submit a written report on the day's activities to the office manager.
• Follow all policies, rules, and procedures applicable to teachers and good teaching practices.
