About The Position

Ridgefield Academy is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated substitute teachers to join our team on the Ridgefield campus. The Substitute Teacher may be asked to work with students in Preschool through 8th grade. Substitutes should be comfortable in all subjects and be flexible to work on an as-needed basis. We will accommodate age range preferences as much as possible. A successful substitute teacher will build rapport with students, follow designated lesson plans, and keep students engaged with classwork. Substitute teachers will work closely with other faculty members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• 2+ years of previous experience working with children.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Share feedback with the Division Head.
• Prepare materials and the classroom for class activities.
• Create an effective environment for learning.
• Maintain accurate student attendance records.
• Execute prepared lesson plans.
• Supervise students in other activities during the school day.

Benefits

• $150/day for a full school day
• $75 for four hours or fewer
