About The Position

Provide instruction in all academic subjects and enforce proper study and discipline skills as planned by the classroom teacher. When possible, provide differentiated instruction and assessment in all content areas; teach, model, and implement effective study and discipline skills; encourage spiritual growth through biblical application and integration; and support the school’s mission, vision, and philosophy.

Requirements

  • Agree with ECS Articles of Faith, the ECS position statements, and abide by the ECS Code of Christian Conduct, as well as demonstrate support of ECS faculty/staff and policies.

  • Ability to travel between school buildings or off-site meetings.
  • Ability to work outdoors periodically for supervision or events.

Nice To Haves

  • Maintain a valid Indiana state teaching license
  • A valid ACSI license and/or Indiana substitute license may be accepted.

  • Serve the school community with joy, humility, and flexibility, stepping in seamlessly to support diverse teaching assignments, student resource needs, test proctoring, and duty coverages.
  • Deliver standards-based instruction rooted in Biblical truth, faithfully executing the lesson plans provided by classroom teachers across all grade levels and subjects.
  • Establish a safe, well-ordered classroom environment that encourages student self-discipline, effective study habits, and active engagement in learning.
  • Manage and maintain clear, supportive, and timely communication with parents when serving in long-term substitute roles.
  • Partner collaboratively with grade-level teams, faculty, intervention specialists, and parents to fulfill the ECS mission and support the holistic growth of every student.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to classroom teachers regarding student academic and behavioral progress during their absence.
  • Communicate proactively with school principals regarding substitute preparation, significant student issues, and scheduling needs to ensure smooth school operations.
  • Supervise students attentively during classroom instruction, field trips, and school-sponsored events to safeguard physical well-being and promote positive community standards.
