About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time substitute teacher for its classical and Catholic classroom in Spring, Texas. The role is for 13 hours per week as needed when staff are absent; the substitute may decline an assignment when unavailable. Instruction takes place in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors are trained in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. The substitute must prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment. The positions are hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. Staff complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, have a deep love for the Catholic faith, and live the faith day to day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life.

Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
Must be willing to prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
Ministry experience in a Catholic parish.
Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
Experience teaching one's own children.
Experience teaching in a classical or private school.
