About The Position
The Rivers School, a 6-12 co-ed independent day school located in Weston, MA, is seeking professionals to join its dynamic, innovative, and welcoming school community. The school is looking for substitute teachers for its Middle and Upper Schools, for both short-term and long-term assignments. The ideal candidates will have classroom experience, understand classroom management, and be able to teach from lesson plans to ensure continuity of instruction. Substitute teachers are expected to be actively engaged in teaching to maintain student learning in the teacher's absence. Compensation varies based on the length of the assignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Enthusiasm and communication skills to engage students and build meaningful relationships
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the classroom
- Understanding of classroom management
- Ability to teach from lesson plans
Responsibilities
- Teach classes following lesson plans
- Assist and supervise classrooms as needed
- Perform duties as assigned by the relevant teacher
