About The Position
The Goddard School is seeking a Substitute Teacher to work variable days and hours with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The role supports age-appropriate learning and children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in a nurturing classroom environment. Each school is privately owned and operated by franchisees, who set their own wages and benefit programs; these vary by location.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Show empathy and compassion for young children.
- Work productively without supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in education or childcare preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Prepare classroom materials and ensure classroom safety and cleanliness.
- Supervise children and provide individualized support.
- Assist in communicating with parents about children’s progress and activities.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines.
- Support routine child care tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
