About The Position
Teachers Now is hiring dependable and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to support schools throughout the Houston South area, including Spring Branch, the Northline area, and schools along the I-45 South corridor. Whether you're looking for a flexible schedule, returning to the workforce, or exploring a career in education, becoming a Substitute Teacher with Teachers Now is a great way to make a difference in your community. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply! No teaching certification is required. Candidates with at least 60 college credit hours are encouraged to apply. We also welcome applications from retired educators, military veterans, college graduates, childcare professionals, tutors, coaches, and individuals with experience working with children and teens.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Able to successfully complete a background check and fingerprinting
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 60 college credit hours preferred
- Bilingual candidates
Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher
- Lead classroom instruction and keep students engaged
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
- Manage student behavior according to school policies
- Take attendance and report any classroom concerns
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and hallway transitions
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and school staff
