About The Position

Boys Town is hiring an on-call Substitute Teacher in Omaha, Nebraska. The teacher provides instruction and support when the assigned instructor is unavailable, implements established lesson plans and curriculum, adapts teaching methods to students’ needs, and maintains a positive learning environment. The role supports student growth and requires accurate recordkeeping and communication with staff and families. The schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Starting pay is $180 per full day, or $190 per full day when assigned to the same classroom for 10 consecutive days or longer.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.
• Current Nebraska Teaching Certificate, Nebraska Substitute Teacher Certificate, or Local Substitute Teacher Certificate.
• Obtain PEM, CPR, and a nationally recognized personal restraint model certification when substituting in the RTC or select settings.
• CPR and personal restraint certification are required in select settings.

Nice To Haves

• Background and experience working with learning-disabled and behaviorally impaired learners.
• Special Education endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction and implement lesson plans in accordance with the established curriculum.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs.
• Supervise and support students in classroom and school settings.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and families.
