This is a per diem position. The role of a Non-Certified Substitute Teacher is to supervise and instruct students in the absence of a regular teacher, ensuring the continuity of student learning and maintaining classroom order. Substitutes who have completed their student teaching and are working towards certification by taking college coursework at a rate of not less than six semester hours per year may work unlimited days. Substitutes without a valid certification and who are not working towards certification can work a maximum of 40 days per school year. The actual number of days permitted to work is dependent on current NYS Dept. of Education Guidelines. Before being added to the Substitute Teacher list, candidates must complete all paperwork and view an online orientation. Once references are checked, a docusign link with onboarding documents and information will be provided.
