About The Position

This is a per diem position. The purpose of this role is to supervise and instruct students in the absence of a teacher to ensure the continuity of student learning and maintaining classroom order. This posting is specifically for Certified Substitute Teachers who must possess a valid NYS teaching certificate to be hired. Applicants without a current NYS certification should apply to the Substitute Teacher - Non-certified posting. Before being added to the Substitute Teacher list, candidates must complete all required paperwork and view an online orientation. Upon successful reference checks, a docusign link will be provided for onboarding documents and information.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct students in the absence of a teacher.
• Ensure the continuity of student learning.
• Maintain classroom order.
• Follow lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Accept assignments as directed by administration if no classrooms require a substitute.
• Potentially assist other schools if additional subs are needed.

Benefits

• Per diem pay rate of $140 for Certified Substitute Teachers.
• Per diem pay rate of $150 for Retired Certified Substitute Teachers.
• Per diem pay rate of $150 for Building Subs - Certified.
• Per diem pay rate of $160 for Certified Long-term subs.
• Additional bonus of $250 at the end of each semester for certified sub teachers who work 55 full days per semester.
• Additional Building Sub Bonus of $500 at the end of each semester for Building Subs who work 80 full days per semester.
• LTS pay begins on the first day of the assignment and is paid retroactively back to day one if the assignment reaches 30 consecutive days.
• LTS are eligible for the $250 Bonus each semester.
