About The Position

Alliance College-Ready Public Schools is seeking entrepreneurial educators passionate about innovating to transform the lives of children in communities where they are needed most. Alliance teachers enjoy the support of a large network of 28 campuses, with the close-knit feel of a small school of up to only 150 students per grade. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid 30-day substitute teaching permit or California Teaching Credential
  • Belief that all scholars, regardless of their economic or social demographics, deserve a quality education and can earn a four-year college degree.
  • Desire to be a part of Alliance’s social justice mission, integrating anti-racist, student-centered instruction, and teaching in systemically underserved communities in Los Angeles.
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop a positive, achievement-oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college-preparatory levels.
  • Strong academic content expertise, instructional and classroom culture skills, and in-depth knowledge of effective evaluation and assessment techniques to drive scholarly learning.
  • Thrive in an environment of high expectations and collaboration.
  • Hold a growth mindset and commit to continuously honing their teaching craft.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with both children and adults.
  • Commitment to Alliance’s mission of building an anti-racist, pro-Black community that prioritizes the success and well-being of Black and Brown scholars.
  • Passion for promoting equity through anti-racist, student-centered teaching practices that celebrate racial and cultural identities.
  • Must complete a LiveScan background check and TB clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive outstanding student achievement for all students in your classroom and support colleagues in driving student achievement school-wide.
  • Leverage Alliance resources and support to develop and implement powerfully engaging curricula and lessons designed to prepare all students to succeed in college and beyond.
  • Utilize a wide variety of teaching methods to create differentiated opportunities for deep understanding for all learners, including students with special needs.
  • Utilize a variety of data and technology to drive instruction and intervention.
  • Create a positive, achievement-oriented, and supportive learning environment that excites and invests students in learning.
  • Create a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement with a drive toward student achievement and college and career readiness.
  • Work collaboratively with families and Alliance colleagues to support the achievement of all students and the mission and vision of the school.
