About The Position
The School Social Worker serves as a liaison between the school and home, and the school and community agencies. This professional is responsible for supporting students with emotional support needs within the K-12 special education framework. The assignment is expected to exceed 90 workdays, with a daily schedule from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work
- School Social Work Certification
- Current license as a Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the Pennsylvania Department of State
- Field work or internship in a social casework situation
- Knowledge of school system, family system, and social agency operation
- Ability to work with families of children with disabilities
- Valid State driver's license with a good driving record
- Approval as an IU13 Certified Driver
