About The Position

Hanford Elementary School District is seeking a Substitute READY Program Tutor. This position involves substituting for the READY Program, with assignments to be determined. The regularly assigned shift is 4.5 hours per day, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., except on Wednesdays when the schedule starts at 1:00 p.m. This is an on-call position as needed, and may involve short or long-term assignments. The READY Program focuses on Recreation, Enrichment, Academics, and Development for Youth, aiming to improve student attendance, academic performance, and overall well-being.

Requirements

Equivalent to graduation from high school.
Completion of, or proof of enrollment in, or progress towards 12 semester units of college-level coursework, preferably in child development.
Obtain a passing score on the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) and California Paraprofessional Exam.
In lieu of the CHSPE, provide documentation of successful completion of two years of higher education study (48 units) or an Associate's (AA) or higher educational degree.
Passing score on CBEST meets both the CHSPE and Paraprofessional Exam requirements.
Experience working with children in formal or informal settings.
A valid First Aid and basic CPR card.
Answers to the supplemental questions by the final filing date.
Completion of an application.
Provide transcripts and/or Paraprofessional exam documentation.
Registration with Kings County Office of Education (559) 589-2500 if the CHSPE and Paraprofessional Exam have not been taken and passed.

Responsibilities
