About The Position

The Wayne County Schools Career Center is accepting applications for the position of Substitute High School Academic Teacher for English, History, Math, Science, and CTE. This role involves substituting for regular teachers and requires a valid Ohio Teaching or Substitute Teaching License. Applicants will undergo an orientation and onsite training covering classroom management and other essential information for success. A BCI & FBI criminal background check is also a requirement for licensure. Upon hiring, substitutes will be placed on a substitute list and provided access to the Frontline Absence Management system for job assignments. Compensation is provided for training and substitute workdays.

Requirements

  • A valid Ohio Teaching or Substitute Teaching License.
  • Completion of a BCI & FBI criminal background check.
  • Attend orientation and onsite training.
  • Complete Public School Works (PSW) training.

Responsibilities

  • Substitute teach for high school academic courses including English, History, Math, Science, and CTE.
  • Attend orientation and onsite training sessions.
  • Complete Public School Works (PSW) training.
  • Utilize the Frontline Absence Management system for job access and assignments.

Benefits

  • Pay: $120.00 per day for the first 30 workdays, $140.00 per day for workdays thereafter.
  • Compensation for up to three hours of PSW training.
