About The Position

We are seeking dependable and flexible Substitute Food Service Workers to assist with school cafeteria operations at various locations throughout the school district. This is an on-call position, with work available as needed. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between school locations within Monmouth County.

The position is scheduled Monday through Friday on the day shift, with no weekends or holidays and summers off. The schedule is flexible and on-call.

Requirements

• Be flexible and available to work on an as-needed basis.
• Have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to different school locations within the district.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Have strong communication and customer service skills.
• Be dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Be able to obtain required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.

Nice To Haves

• Previous food service experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and meal assembly.
• Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cashier duties.
• Stock, organize, and rotate food and supplies.
• Wash dishes and clean kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with other cafeteria duties as needed.
