About The Position
The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking passionate Substitute Teachers for their licensed childcare programs. These programs provide safe, nurturing environments for children to build confidence, friendships, and lifelong skills. As a Substitute Teacher, you will support Early Learning Centers in Beverly, Gloucester, Salem, Marblehead, and Ipswich, ensuring continuity of care and a positive experience for every child. This role is ideal for education students, retirees, or individuals with childcare experience seeking flexible and rewarding work. To qualify for the substitute teacher rate, candidates must be willing to travel to all listed locations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare program.
- Passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Ability to adapt quickly and step into different classrooms and age groups.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and flexible schedule.
- Reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel to all listed locations (Beverly, Gloucester, Salem, Marblehead, and Ipswich).
Nice To Haves
- Certification through the Massachusetts Department of Education and Care in Infant/Toddler or Preschool Education.
- Certification through the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH).
