As a Substitute Cook at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, you will play a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children at various center locations throughout the county. Your responsibilities will include preparing delicious homemade meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks, guided by our easy-to-follow preset menus. You’ll receive regular training on procedures and required paperwork for our Childcare Food Program, ensuring that you’re equipped for success. Shifts typically last around 5 hours in the morning, allowing you to contribute significantly to our Early Childhood Programs, which focus on fostering the growth and development of children and their families. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of food service experience.
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Meet health screening requirements, including a current negative TB test, required immunizations (pertussis, measles), and a current influenza shot, as mandated by Community Care Licensing.
A valid California driver's license and proof of current auto insurance.
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow preset menus.
Effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

One-year of food service or housekeeping experience preferred.
