As a Substitute Cook at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, you will play a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children at various center locations throughout the county. Your responsibilities will include preparing delicious homemade meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks, guided by our easy-to-follow preset menus. You’ll receive regular training on procedures and required paperwork for our Childcare Food Program, ensuring that you’re equipped for success. Shifts typically last around 5 hours in the morning, allowing you to contribute significantly to our Early Childhood Programs, which focus on fostering the growth and development of children and their families. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of food service experience.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Meet health screening requirements, including a current negative TB test, required immunizations (pertussis, measles), and a current influenza shot, as mandated by Community Care Licensing.
  • A valid California driver's license and proof of current auto insurance.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow preset menus.
  • Effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year of food service or housekeeping experience preferred.
