About The Position

Join NeighborImpact as a Head Start Substitute Center Aide for an on-call role that offers hands-on experience in both Early Head Start (ages 2–3) and Head Start preschool classrooms (ages 3–5). Requirements

• Requires frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to children’s needs
• This position is rated as active and occasionally requires the individual to lift 50 pounds
• Must have an initial health examination, and a periodic re-examination (as recommended by health care provider) so as to assure that employees do not because of communicable diseases, pose a significant risk to the health or safety of others, that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation.
• Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment: Food Handler’s Card
• Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment: Current enrollment in the OR Child Care Division Criminal Background Registry (CBR)
• Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment: Access to reliable transportation
• Within 60 days of hire, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is required
• Above certifications must be kept current to remain employed

Nice To Haves

• Experience with children in any age range birth through five years preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Head Start parent or past parent preferred

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving meals
• Assisting with daily cleaning tasks
• Providing staff breaks as assigned by the teaching team
• Supporting the team in supervising children
• Maintaining a safe and sanitary environment
• Effectively communicating with staff and families as needed
• Helping with classroom duties
• Fostering positive child behavior
• Ensuring adherence to program policies at all times
