Substation Design Engineer
About The Position
Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking a design engineer to join their team. This role involves the conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations. Responsibilities include material procurement, construction, and commissioning/startup support through energization. The engineer will develop and deliver physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits, and specifications. Working under the guidance of a project engineer, the design engineer will assist in project execution, including coordination, quality control, and oversight of support staff. Collaboration with specialized discipline groups such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection, Civil Engineering, Communication, and Transmission & Distribution Engineering is expected.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of design engineering experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules.
- Fundamental knowledge of power engineering principles and applicable codes and standards.
- Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.

- Commitment to progress towards PE licensure is encouraged.
Responsibilities
