About The Position

WIL is seeking a Substance Use Program Director to direct rural prevention, treatment, and recovery programs for substance use disorder. This is a contingent proposal opportunity in WIL's expert collaborator network, not a funded vacancy. It supports a competitive grant application WIL is preparing; no award has been made, and there is no guaranteed work or funding. If an award proceeds and the staffing model calls for it, WIL may offer a project-based contract or consulting engagement. WIL will ask before naming the candidate or including their resume in any proposal.

Requirements

  • Experience directing substance use treatment, prevention, or recovery programs.
  • Experience in rural or underserved communities.
  • Consortium or multi-partner leadership experience.
  • Program management, budgeting, and reporting experience.
  • Comfortable as a project-based contract collaborator; remote US.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW, LADC, or equivalent licensure.
  • Experience with medications for opioid use disorder and harm reduction.
  • Prior federal rural health or substance use grant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Direct planning and delivery of rural substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery programs.
  • Lead a consortium of health providers, public health, law enforcement, and community partners.
  • Expand access to medications for opioid use disorder, harm reduction, and recovery supports.
  • Plan recruitment and training for the local substance use workforce.
  • Track overdose, access, and service outcomes.
  • Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to WIL proposals when authorized to be named.
