About The Position

The Community Supports Team Substance Abuse Professional under the supervision of the Team Lead will support members that are identified to have ongoing treatment for Substance Abuse co-occurring with a mental health diagnosis. You will perform assessments and person-centered treatment planning in coordination with the CST partners. You will be assisting members in symptom monitoring and management, along with substance abuse education to reduce a higher level of care. You will assist in promoting positive leisure activity development and various areas of skill building in order to maintain recovery. You will perform assessments to determine best practice in crisis planning along with assisting in maintaining a renewing authorization to ensure that the member receives all services necessary on the continuum of care. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to practice autonomy with your existing team, while collaborating with the treatment team. We will look to you to help growth of service area; this will occur through your connections to community engagement while working in collaboration with various behavioral health resources.

Requirements

  • Must hold one of the following North Carolina substance use credentials: CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor), LCAS (Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist), LCAS-A (LCAS Associate), or CCS (Certified Clinical Supervisor).
  • Regularly walk, stand or stoop.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Regularly drive a motor vehicle.
  • Must be physically able to complete NCI-B and CPR.
