About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Substance Abuse Prevention Policy Administrator to manage the company's substance abuse prevention policies and programs. This role will also involve assisting with the medical surveillance program and managing work-related injury processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in drug testing and a strong understanding of relevant regulations.

  • Must be able to interact with a range of individuals, such as team members, managers, medical professionals, lawyers, etc.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in drug testing industry.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all activities associated with the company substance abuse prevention programs including conducting substance abuse testing, policy administration, training, compliance and reporting.
  • Lead the administration of the second chance program, random programs, pre-employment, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug tests.
  • Clearly communicate policy violations to team members, explain associated consequences, and collaborate with supervisors to determine and implement appropriate next steps.
  • Administer drug testing and track compliance according to the regulations of the Department of Transportation - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Unites States Coast Guard (USCG) and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with the Medical Review Officer (MRO).
  • Interact regularly with team members, occupational facilities and medical providers.
  • Accurately report and maintain timely record keeping of results in multiple databases to complete compliance requirements.
  • Assure timely and thorough completion of diaries and file documentation.
  • Prioritize tasks, demonstrate sense of urgency to resolve issues, and guarantee responsiveness to situations as they arise.
  • Assist in the intake and processing of workers’ compensation claims.
  • Direct first-aid treatment and/or facility care.
  • Coordinate medical surveillance scheduling, tracking and follow up.
  • Monitor and administer claims, generate reports, and communicate with team members, managers, insurance carriers, medical personnel and lawyers.
  • Advise management of drug testing issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the workers’ compensation manager.
