The Substance Abuse Counselor will provide counsel and support to patients suffering from drug or alcohol dependency, educate families in the best ways to help in the recovery process, and work with both inpatient clients and those participating in outpatient programs. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, developing and reviewing individualized treatment plans, and maintaining accurate patient records. The counselor will conduct individual and group counseling sessions, educate patients about community resources, and assist with coping mechanisms for family problems. Ensuring compliance with all agency and Company policies, Federal and State laws, regulations, and guidelines, including HIPPA, is also a key responsibility. The position emphasizes core competencies such as problem-solving, team building, communication, documentation, effective time management, attention to detail, accountability, stress tolerance, and safety consciousness.
