About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join our Asheville treatment team. This position provides direct clinical services to individuals receiving treatment for opioid use disorder and other substance use disorders in a structured outpatient treatment setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a counselor who is passionate about addiction treatment, enjoys building therapeutic relationships, and wants to help individuals make meaningful progress in recovery. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM–1:00 PM, making this a great opportunity for a clinician who prefers an early daytime schedule.

Requirements

  • CADC-I
  • CADC
  • LCAS-A
  • LCAS
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field preferred
  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or High School Diploma may be considered based on applicable CADC/CADC-I credentials and experience
  • Experience working with substance use disorders preferred
  • Experience in opioid use disorder treatment or medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a plus
  • Experience working with co-occurring mental health disorders preferred
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care
  • Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in opioid use disorder treatment or medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling to clients receiving substance use disorder treatment
  • Complete clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide substance use education, recovery support, and relapse prevention services
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans based on clinical needs
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation in the EHR
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with other members of the care team
  • Support continuity of care, aftercare planning, and discharge planning
  • Communicate with referral sources, families, and other providers as appropriate
  • Assist with crisis intervention and level-of-care assessments
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and client confidentiality
  • Follow all applicable state regulations, clinical standards, and company policies
  • Support a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused treatment environment
