Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. Salary range (but not limited to): 69,200 - 84,600 About the role We’re hiring a Subrogation Property Adjuster (10-month secondment) to join our Subrogation team in the West! This is a great opportunity to take ownership of meaningful subrogation files, collaborate with experienced claims partners, and help drive strong recovery outcomes while delivering excellent service every step of the way.

Requirements

  • A university degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • 2+ years handling property, casualty, and/or subrogation claims.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence influencing outcomes.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong critical thinking.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Litigation knowledge (asset).
  • CIP completed or in progress (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Investigate moderately complex property losses and pursue prompt, fair recoveries aligned with company policies and standards.
  • Build strategic recovery plans by identifying key contacts, assessing collectability, and determining when legal action may be appropriate.
  • Gather and analyze claim information (reports, statements, expert input) to evaluate damage, liability, and recovery potential.
  • Negotiate settlements with third parties, insurers, and legal representatives.
  • Support litigation activities as required, including attending hearings/court and providing claim details.
  • Provide responsive, professional service to internal and external customers, including answering questions about investigations and processes.
  • Collaborate closely with claims teams, adjusters, experts, management, and vendors on technical and administrative matters.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with service providers, monitoring performance and quality standards.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and recommend process or procedural enhancements.
