About The Position
Amentum seeks an experienced Logistics Support Specialist in Groton, CT, to support Submarine Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). This is an active role, not a desk job, requiring hands-on support in warehouse and shipyard environments. You’ll be providing "deck plate" support right where the action is in the shipyard. You’ll be the go-to person for making sure parts and equipment get exactly where they need to go.
Requirements
- Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
- US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Five (5) years of experience, to include: supervisory or warehouse lead at a DoD facility; logistics support for projects involving electronic/ electrical repair and installation, ordering, acquisition, distribution of material, equipment and resources.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit if required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to overcome issues at the lowest level.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Navy/Submarine/shipyard supply technician experience.
- Ability to travel as required, up to 10% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventories, shipping/receiving, and property control using digital and manual systems.
- Handle storing, stacking, and palletizing heavy government electronic equipment; operate hand/power trucks.
- Perform inspections, maintain tactical equipment configurations in proprietary systems, and manage discrepancy reporting.
- Provide direct, on-site logistics support to technicians and Navy personnel during submarine construction.
- Interface with various entities to manage equipment replenishment, replacement, and returns.
