About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Submarine Combat Systems Electronics Technician to join its Submarine Technical Support Center (STSC) team in Groton, Connecticut. The technician will work with a team of experienced former service personnel to help maintain the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Force Warfighting Capability. The role includes replacing and repairing SONAR hydrophones and External Hull Penetration connectors aboard in-service submarines. Occasional overtime and limited continental and foreign travel may be required.

Requirements

Vocational or technical training beyond high school.
Five years of electronics experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret U.S. government clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain access capabilities to U.S. Naval installations, specifically U.S. Naval Submarine Base New London.

Nice To Haves

Eight or more years of submarine combat systems electronics operation and/or troubleshooting experience, combining sea and shore duty.
Five years of electronics experience aboard submarines.
Three years of electronic repair and maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Replace and repair SONAR hydrophones aboard in-service submarines.
Replace and repair External Hull Penetration connectors aboard in-service submarines.
Travel within the continental United States and internationally on limited occasions.
Work overtime on occasion, as required.
