About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the Head Coach with all assigned duties and coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, character development, sportsmanship and teamwork in girls’ soccer. The mission of the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical School District is to provide education that is rigorous, relevant, and meaningful to each student in a safe and supportive environment, resulting in academic, career and technical excellence. Responsibilities

  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policy(ies) and procedures.
  • Exhibits loyalty to the Head Coach and GNBVT sports programs.
  • Assists instruction and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement in girls’ soccer.
  • Assists in planning and setting-up activities, and practices.
  • Completes scouting requirements as assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Respects time allotted to soccer practices as determined by the Head Coach.
  • Travels with student athletes on the team bus both to and from games.
  • Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
  • Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles.
  • Supervises students in locker rooms at home and away games and ensures appropriate behavior.
  • Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times.
  • Ensures that medical and safety requirements are followed.
  • Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, parents, fellow coaches, and officials and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
  • Appropriately maintains and secures confidential student records and inquiries.
  • Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with student, parents, community, staff and the media.
  • Completes and maintains appropriate certifications as required, including MIAA Coaches Certification requirements.
